In the second quarter of 2021, South Africa's top Art and Design applications exhibited varied trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at the performance of the top five apps, according to Sensor Tower data.

Canva: Design, Art & AI Editor saw a steady increase in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $10.2K in late April. Weekly downloads fluctuated, reaching a high of around 7.8K at the end of May. Active users consistently grew, starting from 81.2K at the end of March and ending at approximately 91.1K by late June.

Ripl: Social Media Marketing experienced notable growth in downloads, especially in late May, peaking at around 1.7K. Revenue also showed a positive trend with a peak of $545 in early April. Active users increased significantly in May but saw a decline towards the end of June, from 431 to 179.

Adobe Express: AI Video Design maintained a relatively stable revenue throughout the quarter, with a peak of $534 in late May. Downloads varied, reaching up to 650 in early June. Active users showed a gradual decline from 1.4K in early April to 909 by the end of June.

Floor Plan Creator had a consistent download rate, with a peak of 873 in mid-April. Revenue reached its highest point in late April at $93. Active users remained fairly stable, starting at 1.1K in late March and ending at around 1K by the end of June.

Poster Maker & flyer maker app showed a varied trend in downloads, peaking at 4.4K in early April. Revenue fluctuated, with a high of $95 in late June. Active users saw a decline over the quarter, dropping from 4.9K in late March to 907 by the end of June.
